The Dish Cafe was opened on 9 April 2003 https://www.parkes.atnf.csiro.au/people/sar049/dish_cafe/ at the internationally recognised icon "The Dish".

It is a privilege and pleasure that the Australian Telescope National Facility (ATNF) has invited us to establish our business and share with the public this spectacular location. This makes the business unique. We get a lot of passing visitors and friends that pop in. It's great to catch up with locals as well.

Owner/Chef Craig Smith and his friendly team have proudly delivered hospitality at Dish Cafe for the past 14 years. A 10 year anniversary story is in The Champion-Post. This restaurant offers an all-day menu, and is well known for its coffee, pies, and scones with homemade jam. The Cafe has great atmosphere with friendly service and spectacular views of the Parkes Radio Telescope.
